ROSA PARKS
Exploring America in the 1900's and the history of segregation and discrimination through theatre.
WHY THIS?
It is important to explore the history of the Black Lives Matter movement and understand how theatre can support and be a powerful force behind such topics.
WHY NOW?
With the recent BLM events in the UK, and previous mature topics, it is important to use a similar attitude and outlook when using Rosa Park's story to create theatre. This can be done using the same skills adapted and enhanced from the Jeff scheme of work. The knowledge learnt and the way it can be expressed will be transferable knowledge for all future paths in and beyond Stanborough.
WHAT NEXT?
After enhancing your performance skills, this will prepare you for GCSE and practitioner work, as you begin to understand where these skills come from.
